Dear Fitbabe: I have been dieting for a long time, and have become fairly lean. Why do I still have cellulite? It seems like no matter what I do or how lean I get, it is still there! Is there anything I can do to get rid of it?
Thanks: JenniferHi Jennifer,
Unfortunately, my honest answer is there is no way to completely rid your body of cellulite. Celulite, which is a matter of lifestyle, age, and body type (genetics), has everything to do with how your skin lies over the layer of adipose tisssue or fat underneath it. Your best bet for reducing the appearance of cellulite is to keep working hard on your fitness regime and clean diet in order to change your body composition even more. I hope you don’t mind if I also wonder if you are really as lean as you think you are? You may need to lower your overall body fat with an overhaul of your fitness plan and diet. In addition to decreasing further your body fat, toning/increasing lean body mass in the muscles of your problem areas could help by creating a firmer surface. With added muscle, skin does not appear to be as loose. I hope this answer helps you!
